Girls’ Generation exceeds 400,000 copies in album sales with ‘The Boys’.

Girls’ Generation‘s third studio album, ‘The Boys‘, has passed 400,000 copies in sales!

According to the Gaon Chart, ‘The Boys’ topped its year-end chart at 385,348 copies despite having been released in the second half of the year on October 19th. Since then, they’ve recorded 25,194 additional copies in sales up to April, bringing their grand total to 410,542 copies.

Since Gaon began tracking album sales in 2010, Girls’ Generation is currently the first and only artist to hit the 400,000 mark without having to include repackaged album sales.

Girls’ Generation’s albums across the board are seeing the same additions in sales. ‘Oh!‘ jumped from 197,934 copies to 218,522 copies in a year, ‘Run Devil Run‘ sold 168,998 total copies, and ‘Hoot‘ recorded 180,825 copies up to last year.

As for their latest unit group, Taetiseo, “Twinkle” has hit 604,870 downloads, making them the most downloaded artist on Gaon for the week of May 2nd.

Tiffany Acknowledges Park Ji Sun as Her Doppelganger.

Though fans might think otherwise, Girls’ Generation Tiffany admits that she and comedienne Park Ji Sun look alike.

Aired on May 10, KBS2’s Happy Together 3 held a ‘Girls’ Generation VS Comedy Generation’ special, featuring Taeyeon, Tiffany, Jessica, Shin Bora, Park Ji Sun, and Jung Juri as guests.

On this day, MC Park Mi Sun asked Park Ji Sun, “Do people tell you that you look like Tiffany?” All the cast members started laughing as if it was the most ridiculous question in the world. Yoo Jae Suk even added, “She looks nothing like Tiffany.”

Park Ji Sun then retorted, saying, “On an application that matches your picture to a celebrity, Tiffany came out for mine.” The male cast members replied back, “I took a picture of a clothes hanger, and Won Bin came out. The only thing you two have in common is that you both live in Korea.” They also added that Park Myung Soo looks more similar with Park Ji Sun.

But unlike the people in denial, Tiffany admitted saying, “I think Park Ji Sun and I look similar when I had short hair and smiled widely with my gums showing.

Meanwhile, Taeyeon, Jessica, and Tiffany revealed a few of their baby pictures, and Yoona made a surprise guest appearance on this broadcast.

Girls’ Generation members YoonA and Jessica who took on roles in ‘Love Rain‘ & ‘Wild Romance‘ shared some behind-the-scenes stories about their kiss scenes.

On the May 10th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Happy Together 3‘, Jessica opened up about her kiss scene with Lee Dong Wook. “We had to have a couple of takes,” she said. “Only because it was really cold.”

Fellow member YoonA who drew attention for her ‘fountain kiss’ with Jang Geun Suk was asked if it was awkward between the two afterwards. “It felt like we were just acting. We had good rapport and conversed really well,” she answered.

Jessica also revealed that she received a number of pointers from YoonA who was the first member to make her small-screen debut.

Also on the episode were ‘Gag Generation’ members Shin Bora, Park Ji Sun, and Jung Juri.
