Girls’ Generation and 2PM’s photobooks rank on Oricon’s Top 10 quarter sales chart

Girls‘ Generation and 2PM‘s photobooks attained great success on the first quarter sales chart in Japan.

On June 1st, Japan’s Oricon chart released the first quarter sales chart. Girls’ Generation’s first official photobook, ‘Holiday‘, ranked in 7th place with 33,415 albums sold while 2PM, who recently attracted over 100,000 audience members with their arena tour,  ranked in 8th place with their photobook, ‘2PM Arena Tour 2011‘, with a total of 16,938 copies sold. These two idol groups are the only Korean groups to have made it into the top of this quarter’s Oricon chart.

Meanwhile, Girls Generation members are each working on their own schedule while 2PM successfully finished their performance in Tokyo for their ‘6 Beautiful Days‘ tour.

In the span of just 2-days Shoujo Jidai has been releasing information on their upcoming Japanese single “PAPARAZZI” in pieces.

The news of their upcoming single “PAPARAZZI” was first released on the girls’ Japanese mobile site. After revealing the PV teaser and preview, they also revealed two promotional photos. Now the group has released the single jackets and track lists for the single.

As previously mentioned the single has been described as a strong dance tune, and to match the song, Shoujo Jidai’s choreography will include a ‘camera shutter’ move while also being chased around by paparazzi.

“PAPARAZZI” will be released on June 27th.

TTS praises Taeyeon's Vocals.

Girls’ Generation TaeTiSeo has dubbed Taeyeon a possessor of “selfish” vocals.

On June 1 broadcast of “Yoo Hee Yul’s Sketchbook,” Tiffany highly praised Taeyeon’s skills. “Taeyeon was born with it,” she said. “Our singing parts naturally increased as we began our subunit, but as I keep listening to Taeyeon’s singing, I can only think that she’s simply born with it. It’s almost ‘selfish’ in a way!”

MC Yoo also agreed that all the high notes seem to be sung by Taeyeon. Taeyeon humbly replied, “I’m embarrassed. It’s not to that extent.”

Girls' Generation's Taetiseo is The First Unit Group to Win Four Triple Crowns!

Girls’ Generation’s first unit group Taetiseo began promoting on music programs back in the beginning of May.  Since then, Taetiseo has swept all of the Korean music shows and has earned a total of twelve trophies.  The ladies of Taetiseo are the first unit group to ever earn a triple crown on each program.  If their achievement wasn’t enough already, they managed to accomplish this in the span of just one month.

A representative for SM Entertainment remarked, “During this period of promotions, Taetiseo was able to receive recognition for their music and dance skills as well as their visuals, which is what has allowed to them to have a long, productive run.”

Many have begun to wonder, due to Taetiseo success, will this be the only unit group or will there be additional groups formed with members from Girls’ Generation in the future? Fans will just have to wait and see on that one as Taetiseo finishes up their promotions and takes some time out to enjoy their achievements.

Taetiseo will wrap-up their fruitful “Twinkle” promotions later this week on the June 3 broadcast of SBS’ “Inkigayo.”

On the most recent episode of MBC “Dancing With the Stars: Season 2” that was aired on June 1, Girls’ Generation‘s Hyoyeon garnered attention due to her revealing dress. Viewers were surprised by her unexpectedly voluptuous body.

Hyoyeon’s arrived on stage wearing a sports dancer dress that was white with black polka dots. The sides of the dress look like they’ve been carved out, which in turn revealed Hyoyeon’s waistline. The dress was also low-cut, to the surprise of many a viewer.

Girls’ Generation Members’ Food Allergies Revealed

A popular way in Korea for fans to show their support and appreciation towards their favorite artists is to send them delicious meals. However, food allergies are a very important factor that must be taken into careful consideration while preparing any kind of food.

On June 1st, MBC’s “Good Day” conducted several interviews with various lunchbox-making companies. During the interview, one company that is known for making lunches for Girls’ Generation revealed that “we always match our menu for the fans who know what Girls’ Generation members like.” As the interview progressed, the company shared some of the surprising food allergies that certain members of Girls’ Generation have. For example, Taeyeon is allergic to nuts, while Jessica not only dislikes the smell of cucumbers, she is also allergic to them. On the other hand, Tiffany enjoys eating eel so much that her lunchboxes have sometimes contained not one but two pieces of eel.

When asked about Girls’ Generation’s diet concerns, the company stated that they don’t make any special adjustments because the girls said that “they don’t need any special diet foods since they do a lot of dancing and singing and other activities.” So instead of cutting down portions or restricting only to certain foods, the lunchboxes are prepared with delicious ingredients that create a healthy balance between all the different food groups.

Girls’ Generation – TTS Talks About Talent and Cuteness on ‘Sketchbook’

On June 1st, Girls’ Generation – TTS guest-starred on KBS 2TV’s “Yoo Heeyeol’s Sketchbook”. In addition to performing “Twinkle” and solo cover songs “Take a Bow”, “Rolling in the Deep”, and “Jack”, Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun sat down with MC Yoo Heeyeol for a short and entertaining interview.

During this episode, Taeyeon revealed the secret behind her singing, stating, “When promoting as nine members, we aren’t given many opportunities to sing by ourselves, so I feel like we’re fulfilling what we’ve wanted through this promotion cycle as a unit group.” MC Yoo Heeyeol also complimented the girls’ hidden singing talents. Tiffany and Seohyun then commented, “I think Taeyeon has a natural born talent [for singing]. She sings so well that it comes off as very confident of herself.”

In reality, Taeyeon has been garnering attention through their “Twinkle” performances for her explosive high notes. She was acknowledged for her unwavering singing, even while showing a flashy performance. To this, Taeyeon confessed, “I think it’s genetic. My dad was the vocalist in a neighborhood band,” causing laughter. Also during this episode, Seohyun recalled the audition she had at age twelve and sang “Wild Flower Story”, gaining a great response from the audience.

During the show, when asked, “Is there a member of Girls’ Generation who acts pretty?”, they all named Sunny. Girls' Generation to perform at the 'K-POP Nation Concert in Macao 2012'

On July 2nd 2012 at 8PM (GMT-8), Girls’ Generation, together with SHINee, B.A.P, and U-KISS, will be performing at the “K-POP Nation Concert in Macao 2012”. It will be held at the Cotai Arena situated within the Venetian Hotel. The Cotai Arena is known for hosting the Mnet Asian Music Awards back in 2010, and it can be occupied by roughly 15,000 people. Many famous artists have performed on this stage, such as Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Rain and Super Junior. It becomes a “dream stage” for many artists around the world. “K-POP Nation Concert in Macao 2012” is a special concert as it will not only showcase performances by each artist, but it will also include stories that have never been shared before at any other concert. Tickets for the concert have been on sale since May 31st, and can be purchased via the Cotai Ticketing site. Purchasing tickets has always been a difficult task due to the overwhelming amount of people who wish to attend the event. DMB Media, the co-organizer of the concert, has stated that even though “the tickets were sold through an overseas website, both domestic and overseas fans made telephone inquiries and the service became paralyzed after the ticket sale opened.” A representative from MBC Plus Media also revealed that they were “surprised by the domestic and overseas fans" reactions. Driven by the support from fans, the stars are working hard to create great performances.” With only a month left until the concert date, tickets are selling out fast. Hong Kong’s Beneco Asia will be collaborating with Korea’s MBC Plus Media to do a re-run of all the concert footage after it is has been completed. Many channels in Asia, including Korea’s MBC Plus Media channel, China’s CCTV, and Hong Kong’s Now TV, will be broadcasting the performances, and fans that are unable to attend will be able to have the opportunity to relive the concert in the comforts of their own home.
