Girls’ Generation comes in second for Gallup Korea’s “The Most Outstanding Singer of the Year”
On December 28th, Girls’ Generation came in second in a survey for “The Most Outstanding Singer of the Year” conducted by Gallup Korea on 4,157 participants from the ages 13 to 59.
The surveys were conducted using the interview method during different periods of the year, namely from May 2nd to 16th, September 12th to 26th and November 15th to 30th.
It was no surprise that PSY came in first place (24.4%) this year with his hugely successful ‘Gangnam Style’. In 2012, Girls’ Generation (with a total votes of 19.8%), however, had little promotions as a group in Korea after ‘The Boys’ in the previous year but instead, they had subunit activities (TaeTiSeo with ‘Twinkle’) and individual activities in dramas, musicals and variety shows. Big Bang came in third with 9.5% followed by IU (6.9%) and Jang YoonJung (6.6%).
This is also not the first time we saw Girls’ Generation on Gallup Korea’s list of “The Most Outstanding Singer of the Year”. Girls’ Generation came in fourth in 2007 and 2008 before topping the list from 2009 to 2011. From the results of the survey, we can also see that Girls’ Generation topped the survey for participants in their 20s while Big Bang topped the teenage category and PSY topped the 30-50s age groups.
TaeTiSeo’s ‘Twinkle’ was also chosen 4th as “The Best Song of the Year” with PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ taking first, followed by Sistar’s ‘Alone’ and Busker Busker’s ‘Cherry Blossom Ending’. Girls’ Generation’s ‘Gee’, ‘Hoot’, ‘Oh!’ and ‘The Boys’ appeared on the list in previous years.
Meanwhile, Busker Busker and Ailee were voted to be the “Best Newcomers of the Year”.
Girls’ Generation will be making their long-awaited comeback with ‘I Got A Boy’ on January 1st.

SNSD to Release Dance Version Teaser for ′I Got a Boy′ Today
Girls′ Generation (SNSD) will release the dance version teaser for its new single I Got a Boy today (December 28).
The video, showing SNSD′s new music and performances, will be uploaded on SNSD′s official webpage, SMTown′s YouTube channel, its Twitter, Facebook page, Weibo and Naver.
The dance version teaser will show how the SNSD members look in their new concept, and will be completely different from the drama version teaser released beforehand.
January 1, New Year′s Day, is also set to be ′Girls′ Generation Day′, as the full music video for I Got a Boy is set for release along with the full fourth album, and the group′s comeback show SNSD′s Romantic Fantasy will air.
The group will continue to promote its fourth album I Got a Boy after its release.

Prior to the comeback on the 1st January 2013 with the new title song ‘I Got a Boy’, SNSD members were reported to spend a busy year-end as being MCs at three different award shows.
Yoona was selected to be a MC with Jeong Yong Hwa and Seong Si Kyeong at “2012 KBS Music Festival”,which will be broad casted on 28th December.It is a third time for Yoona to lead such a big award ceremony since last year, when she experienced MCing for 2011 “KBS Entertainment Award” and “SBS Music Festival”.
On 30th, Sooyoung is going to inference in the MC experience as well. She was nominated to be a MC along with Yoon Do Hyeon and HaHa during SBS “Entertainment Award”, set to be held at Sam Am Dong, SBS Tower. Noticeably, it was a first time for Sooyoung;however, the spokesman from SBS stated that, “Through Sooyoung’s cheerful and jaunty voice,we have expected for the better vitality during the show.”
Like her unnies, maknae Seohyun is also arranged to be a MC for “2012 MBC Music Festival” on the last day of the year. On the event, she will be joining with Lee Hwe Jae, Boom,and MBLAQ Lee Joon.

Girl group SNSD will be showing off the diverse charm through their upcoming special comeback show by MBC.
On 24th December, according to SM Entertainment, SNSD is going to launch their first comeback show after over a year via MBC new year special program ‘SNSD’s Romantic Fantasy’, which was set to be broadcasted on the 1st of January at 11:15 PM(KST). It has been an expectation to see the girls holding their first performance for the 4th full length album title song ‘I Got a Boy’, along with the recent released song ‘Dancing Queen’ and other various stages as well.
At the comeback recording studio on 23rd, it was reported that a number of fans gathered in order to see the girls and support by the explosive roaring in every single minute.
The 1st January seems to be the most tremendously exciting New Year for fans who have been waiting eagerly until the releasing of SNSD’s new album.
