2 K-Pop Super Agencies SM and JYP to set August on Fire with Family Concert?
The two big giants of K-Pop, SM Entertainment and JYP Entertainment, will be battling it out in Korea and Japan come August with a round of family concerts.
SM Entertainment will first be holding its SMTown concert from August 4-5 at Japan’s Tokyo Dome. Following the concert will be a performance in Korea on August 18.
Super Junior, BoA, TVXQ (DBSK), Girls’ Generation (SNSD), SHINee, f(x), EXO and more will be at the concert to showcase their colorful performances on the stage of SMTown.
JYP Entertainment, helmed by Park Jin Young, will also be holding family concerts in both Korea and Japan to tighten its hold on the hallyu market.
After wrapping up Wonder Girls’ successful exclusive concert on July 7, JYP plans to hold its own family concert, JYP Nation, in Seoul on August 4. Park Jin Young, 2PM, Wonder Girls, miss A, San-E, Joo and JJ Project will all be present.
This will be the third JYP family concert to take place since its first in 2010. From August 18-19, JYP will then be traveling to Japan for its JYP Nation in Japan 2012 concert in Yoyogi, Tokyo.
The two agencies seem to be aiming to feed the hallyu fire by holding family concerts in the same month in both countries. K-Pop fans are especially joyous at the opportunity to see all singers from each agency at the same time.
