Girls’ Generation and other Kpop stars to perform at Google HQ in San Francisco on May 21st!

Korean top groups Girls’ Generation, TVXQ, Super Junior, etc will be performing at the Google Headquarters in San Francisco for the first time.

On May 3rd, a representative from the music industry told OSEN, “On May 21st, Girls’ Generation, TVXQ, Super Junior, Wonder Girls, Kara, Beast and other popular Hallyu artists will be performing at the concert organized by MBC.”

The concert which will be taking place at Google Headquarters in San Francisco, USA at 6pm (local time) on May 21st will be aired worldwide through MBC and Google.

For SM Entertainment’s artistes, they will be preparing for the concert at Google Headquarters right after the ‘SM Town Live World Tour’ which will be held at Honda Center, California on May 20th.

Seohyun officially appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Pavilion Yeosu Expo 2012

Seohyun has been officially appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Pavilion Yeosu Expo 2012.

On May 3rd, a representative in charge of the Expo 2012, which will be held starting May 12th stated, “Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun understands the purposes of UN Pavilion and is determined to show the significance of marine environment to the world. Therefore, she has accepted the role of a Goodwill Ambassador.”

The official appointment ceremony of Seohyun as the Goodwill Ambassador was held at end of March this year in the presence of UN Secretary-General Ban KiMoon, who was in Korea to attend the 2012 Nuclear Security Summit.

Ahead of the appointment ceremony, Seohyun who paid attention to the details of the UN Pavilion and its purposes said, “In order to spread the awareness on the importance of marine environment to more people, I shall channel more effort into it”, showing how prepared she was to take up the role.

Seohyun then added, “I’ve always wanted to be like my role model, the UN Secretary-General, Mr. Ban KiMoon whom I have the greatest respect for. It was even more meaningful to be able to receive the UN Pavilion Goodwill Ambassador appointment certificate directly from him.”

Following Seohyun’s appointment, Ban KiMoon said, “Through Seohyun’s activities as the Goodwill Ambassador, we hope that the awareness on the conservation and sustainability of ocean and marine environments could be instilled in students, youth and the public visiting the UN Pavilion.”

Our Brighter than Mushrooms, Tiffany, made a confession that she strongly dislikes people that call her by her Korean name!

Tiffany appeared on MBC’s ‘Joo Byung Jin Talk Concert’ broadcast on May 3rd. Member from TVXQ, SuperJunior were also on the show and gathered together to share some stories and secrets about themselves.

During the introduction from each of the members, Super Junior’s Leeteuk out of the blue asked Tiffany why she didn’t like being called by her real name, ‘Hwang MiYoung’. The SNSD member answered, “Because my friends call me ‘Hwang MiYeok’!” (Miyeok = Korean for Seaweed)

She continued, “They even made a rap song titled Hwang Miyuck and sing it every time the saw me!”, causing the guests to burst into laughter.

Personally I don’t think ‘Hwang MiYoung, Hwang MiYeok or Hwang Miyuck’ sounds too bad kekekek! However what I do want to hear is the rap song her friends made up! haha B). What do you guys think?
