Girls’ Generation to Perform in ‘K-POP Fantasy Concert’ in the Philippines

Korean Media Holdings, one of Korea’s largest media content providers, and Gangnam dance academy DM School are collaborating on a multi-act event called “K-POP Fantasy Concert”, and DM School has confirmed that Girls’ Generation will be performing in the concert.

The “K-POP Fantasy Concert” will be held on January 19th, 2013 in Manila, Philippines. While the artist list is still being finalized, INFINITE and U-Kiss have also been confirmed for the event.

“K-POP Fantasy Concert” is a push by KMH to expand its operations overseas in light of K-Pop’s growing popularity in Southeast Asia. KMH is hoping that this event could spearhead future concerts or tours in this region.

This concert also marks the first time Girls’ Generation will be making an appearance in the Philippines and comes at a time when SM Entertainment is continuing to promote in Southeast Asia with events like SMTOWN in Jakarta and Singapore.

Actor Kwak Do Won recently begged Taeyeon to come to the premiere of his new movie on the September 16th airing of MBC‘s ‘Section TV‘.

The actor stated in the broadcast, “Please come to our premiere and watch“. Kwak Do Won stars in the movie ‘A Company Man‘ with actors So Ji Sub, Lee Mi Yeon and ZE:A‘s Dongjun.

So Ji Sub said of the actor, “[He would fit with] a woman who is pretty in both appearance and heart“. Kwak Do Won said in response, “Just contact me“, making everyone laugh.

‘A Company Man’ will open in theaters on October 18th.

Girls’ Generation to Perform at ABU TV Song Festival

Girls’ Generation will be performing at the inaugural Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) TV Song Festival on October 14th. Hosted by KBS, the event will take place at the KBS Concert Hall in Yeouido, Seoul. According to the festival’s official website, the event is meant to commemorate the “celebration of popular music representing the geographical and cultural expanse of the Asia-Pacific region.” The festival aims to “promote and strengthen cultural diversity through the universal allure of popular music,” and to “develop the international profile of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union.”

The ABU TV Song Festival will showcase musical talents from the different member organizations of the ABU. Girls’ Generation has the honor of representing Korea and KBS and will perform alongside solo artists and musical groups from all around the Asia-Pacific region.
