‘I AM’ Records 90.9 Percent Peer Satisfaction in Japan
SM Entertainment’s documentary film I AM has been making issues across Japan.
According to the Japanese music site BARKS on June 5, I AM, which premiered in Japan on June 2, recorded 90.9 percent in peer satisfaction, coming in first place for the week’s new releases.
Despite the film being released at the early hour of 9 a.m., an audience with ages ranging from elementary school students to those in their 50s crowded the theater in Shinjuku.
As soon as the film started, the audience started screaming, dancing to the music and shedding tears, turning the theater into a concert hall.
The film’s great popularity managed to bring it the 90.9 percent peer satisfaction scores, and the film has earned more than 60 million yen in just two days.
I AM is a documentary film about how the SM singers, BoA, TVXQ (DBSK), SHINee, Girls’ Generation (SNSD), f(x), Super Junior and Kangta came to debut, and how they were brought to perform at New York’s Madison Square.
