A new Korean culture promotional guide pamphlet featuring the ladies of Girls’ Generation has been produced.
Sungshin Women’s University professor Seo Kyung Duk who is a professional when it comes to promoting Korea has included Girls’ Generation in the English guide for foreign visitors. The pamphlet provides details on the Korean alphabet, traditional Korean dishes, Korea’s traditional hanbok, and more.
Professor Seo remarked, “Because K-POP is currently becoming a world-wide phenomenon, I thought something that could introduce Korea’s culture along with it was needed. We then began planning a guide that could be shared everywhere in the world.”
“We included Girls’ Generation in the guide as they currently represent South Korean cultural content,” Seo continued. “The guides are created with environmental-friendly quality paper and designed as something that people will not take one look and do away with, but rather continue to keep with them.”
Girls’ Generation’s agency SM Entertainment remarked, “Now that Girls’ Generation has participated in a guide pamphlet to promote Korean culture, we will work to widely spread more awareness of our culture.”
The guides will be distributed starting next week at the Expo 2012 Yeosu to 50,000 foreign visitors. 30,000 more copies will be distributed in London where the 2012 London Olympics will be held, as well as 20,000 to prestigious universities of the world.
