First stamps featuring Girls' Generation to be issued in August
As we have reported in the previous news, Girls' Generation will be on stamps! And the stamps are planned to be released soon.
Girls' Generation's own personalized stamps will be made available this August.
According to the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (Ministry of Post), "Girls' Generation stamps have been approved directly by the headquarters of the post office and will be the first issued stamps featuring an artist, one who has dazzled the world as a protagonist of the global K-Pop phenomenon."
They have also added that the Girls' Generation stamps are a special production.
The stamp sets will also commemorate Girls' Generation's 5th year as a group, and will include handwritten signatures on each member's solo images from "The Boys." Other stamps will feature the album covers of their past releases including "Gee," "Oh!", "Girls' Generation," "Hoot" and "Genie" for a total of 14 different stamps.
The Seoul Central Post Office will sell the Girls' Generation stamps for 20,000 won each beginning early August before over 50 post offices nationwide will begin selling them as well. The stamps will also be viewed at the "Korean Stamp Exhibition" at COEX between August 9th and 13th.
In addition, director Kim Taewan said, "The postage stamp of Girls' Generation will help contribute to and spread the Hallyu wave, and help culture development."
Meanwhile, Girls' Generation has released their newest Japanese single, "Paparazzi."
